More prep work in the garden, and lots of indoor jobs.
December 2024
More snow and cold winds. However, no frosts recorded in the greenhouses.
A dedicated team of 12 volunteers prepared the ground for a tree nursery and planted fifty saplings.
November 2024
Unseasonably warm at start of month, then the snow arrived, along with Storm Bert!
Our Saturday Conservation task volunteers started clearing the overgrown area between the Walled Garden’s inner and outer walls to turn it into a tree nursery.

No rain this month, but cool misty mornings. No frosts yet.

Some cold days, but a late warm spell helped ripening. A successful Autumn Fair
We had a great Autumn Fair, despite the downpours on Sunday. We had over 700 people over the weekend and raised over £1600 for future projects in the garden. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen.

It’s starting to warm up at last!
Bricklayers are needed for our historic walled garden at Wollaton Park. Join our team to help with rebuilding, pointing, replacing worn bricks, repairing walls, and restoration work.

Busy month, sowing,planting and maintenance. Warm , wet start and plenty of new growth (ie weeds!) Cooler at end of month.
