Nottingham City Council proposes charging entry to Wollaton Hall and its Natural History Museum to fund repairs and improve the visitor experience in a new operating model.
The “in-house plus” model involves establishing an exhibitions company and a charitable development trust that will operate alongside the in-house park management. I.e. the park remains owned by the council, and not the charity/trust as reported in some articles.
More details of the operating model can be found in this article in the Museums Journal.
The council meeting minutes show the alternative options considered, including closure of the hall.
