Despite the many wildlife photographs taken in Wollaton Park, a hedgehog sighting remains elusive. To rectify this, a team of volunteers, in collaboration with folk from Nottingham Trent University, recently deployed 30 wildlife cameras throughout the park as part of the National Hedgehog Monitoring Programme.
After braving the early rain, the team successfully retrieved the cameras today. The images will now be uploaded to MammalWeb where volunteers will then be able to analyse the captured images to identify the mammals present.
We’ll keep you posted on the survey’s findings.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative so far.
