The Harrow Road gate is closed for calving season, to protect calving deer nearby. In spring, female deer hide their calves in tall grass for protection.
To keep everyone safe, all visitors should stay on paths and keep their distance from deer and fawns. Dog walkers should keep dogs on leads; if a deer charges, let the dog go. Don’t approach fawns, the mothers will be nearby and protect them.
